TL;DR Summary: We provide an AI detection tool for informational purposes. While highly accurate, no detector is perfect. We are not responsible if you fail a class or lose a job based on these results. Use this tool as an indicator, not a judge.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using the website located at gptzero.cn.com (“Service”), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. In addition, when using these particular services, you shall be subject to any posted guidelines or rules applicable to such services.
2. Description of Service
GPTZero provides users with tools to analyze text for patterns indicative of Artificial Intelligence generation (“AI Detection”). The Service uses statistical analysis, including Perplexity and Burstiness metrics, to provide a probabilistic score.
You understand and agree that the Service is provided “AS-IS” and that GPTZero assumes no responsibility for the timeliness, deletion, mis-delivery or failure to store any user communications or personalization settings.
3. Accuracy Disclaimer (Crucial)
No AI detection tool is 100% accurate. Our results are probabilistic estimates based on patterns common in Large Language Models (LLMs) available at the time of scanning.
- False Positives: The Service may incorrectly identify human-written text as AI-generated.
- False Negatives: The Service may fail to identify AI-generated text, especially if it has been heavily edited or obfuscated.
- No Professional Advice: The results provided by the Service should not be used as the sole basis for disciplinary academic actions, employment termination, or legal decisions.
4. User Conduct
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Upload content that violates any intellectual property rights or privacy rights of others.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the underlying software or algorithms.
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service without express written permission.
- Flooding the service with excessive requests that disrupt performance for other users.
5. Intellectual Property & Data Usage
Your Data: As outlined in our Privacy Policy, text submitted to our free public scanner is processed in volatile memory for the purpose of analysis and is not permanently stored or used to train our models, unless explicitly stated in a separate Enterprise agreement.
Our IP: The design, code, “Perplexity” and “Burstiness” visualization logic, and the “GPTZero” brand assets are the exclusive property of GPTZero.cn.com.
6. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall GPTZero, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service;
- Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service;
- Any content obtained from the Service; and
- Unauthorized access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content.
7. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material we will try to provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
